Suppliers with lien rights
A GC or Sub on a project lists the suppliers that have lien rights on that project: when it accepts the project, and again on every pay application it submits. The Owner sees how many suppliers each contractor lists and every change to that count, never a supplier's name.
1. List your suppliers when you accept a project
1. Open the invitation.
2. Under Suppliers with lien rights, tick each of your suppliers with lien rights on the project. To add one, choose Add supplier, type its name and choose it from your list, or choose Enter a new supplier and fill in its record.
3. If your company has none on this project, tick My company has no suppliers with lien rights on this project.
4. Choose Accept and join the project.
If you joined without a list, open the project and choose the Lien Rights Suppliers tab to give it before you submit a pay application.
2. Confirm the list on each pay application
1. Open the pay application and choose Submit Pay Application.
2. Check the list. Untick a supplier that no longer has lien rights on the project, or add one that does.
3. Choose Confirm suppliers and submit.
Each pay application you submit carries its own confirmation, and so does a pay application you submit again after a change.
3. Change the list on the project
1. Open the project and choose the Lien Rights Suppliers tab.
2. To add a supplier, choose Add supplier, type its name, and choose Add to this project beside it. If it is not on your company's list, choose Enter a new supplier, fill in its record and choose Save supplier.
3. To change a supplier's record, the date its preliminary notice was received or its PO or contract amount on this project, choose Edit on its row, then Save supplier.
4. To take a supplier off this project, choose Remove on its row, then Remove from this project. It stays on your company's supplier list.
5. If your company has no suppliers with lien rights on the project, choose Confirm my company has none.
Each change is recorded on the project's audit trail.
Once a project is closed or cancelled, its list is no longer changed and these buttons are not shown.
4. Who sees the list
- Your company sees its own suppliers by name.
- The Owner sees how many suppliers each contractor lists and each change to that count, never a supplier's name.
- The GC sees how many suppliers each of its Subs lists and each change to that count, never a supplier's name.
- No other contractor on the project sees your suppliers' names.
- Your notice dates and PO or contract amounts are seen by your company alone.
