Prevailing wage projects

On a prevailing wage project, the lines of a pay application are approved only once the company that submitted it has filed its certified payroll for that pay application. It is off unless the project is set as a prevailing wage project.

1. Set a project as a prevailing wage project

1. When you create a project, tick Prevailing wage project.

2. Or, as the Owner, open the project and choose the Scope tab, then tick Prevailing wage project.

3. To clear it, clear the same box on the Scope tab.

Only the Owner can change it, and only before the first deposit into the project. Each change is recorded on the project's audit trail.

2. File certified payroll

1. Open the project, choose the Pay Apps tab and open the pay application.

2. Under Certified Payroll, choose the PDF.

3. Select File certified payroll.

The file must be a PDF under 10 MB. Only the company that submitted the pay application can file it, and any member of that company on the project can. Until it is filed, Action Required on your Dashboard says Certified payroll needed for Pay App and the pay application's number. Each filing is recorded on the project's audit trail.

3. Replace a certified payroll

1. Open the pay application. Under Certified Payroll, choose the corrected PDF.

2. Tick I am replacing the certified payroll on record with a corrected one.

3. Select Replace certified payroll.

The earlier filing stays on record and reads Replaced. Only the new one counts, and it waits on review again. Nothing is deleted.

4. Review a certified payroll

The Owner reviews the GC's certified payroll, and the GC reviews a Sub's. When one waits on you, Action Required on your Dashboard says Certified payroll to review.

1. Choose the pay application in that item.

2. Under Certified Payroll, choose View to open the file.

3. Choose Accept, or choose Reject, write the reason and choose Reject certified payroll.

A rejection holds that pay application's lines again until a corrected one is filed, and the company that filed it is told the reason. Each review is recorded on the project's audit trail.

5. What each seat sees

  • Under Certified Payroll, each pay application reads Not filed, Filed, Accepted or Rejected.
  • The company that filed it, and the seat that reviews it, also read the reason a rejection gave.
  • While it reads Not filed or Rejected, Approve and Approve All Lines are refused for that pay application. Every other pay application on the project is approved as usual.
  • The Owner reads the GC's certified payroll, and sees only the status of a Sub's. The GC reads its Subs' certified payroll.
